Artist Statement: Anna Brazier.

To live is to move; how we move embodies our past and creates our future. My practice whether in performance, drawing, or mixed – media has these ideas at its heart.

I love it that in the twenty-first century thinking about thinking is changing, and dichotomies are being challenged. Ideas can be re-imagined together, at once and reciprocally in relation.

Exploring possibilities for increased conceptual fluidity,  for improvisation, for moving freely is central to my practice, for me new thinking arises through attention to reflexive processes. I am drawn to methods and materials that support improvisation, embodiment, transformation and working with others.

Background

I worked in the NHS as a Clinical Psychologist/Systemic Psychotherapist before training as an Alexander Teacher and completing my MFA with distinction at Cardiff Metropolitan in 2016. I now combine an arts practice with my Alexander work.
